Creative Facilitation
Romance Your Muse
“Sharing your voice can be uncomfortable. But you know, that’s how the sun feels, too, when it rises out of the night. Doesn’t make it any less bright.”
– Cat Wityk

What is Creative Facilitation?
To facilitate means to guide without controlling in order to make learning easier.
Contrary to traditional instruction, a facilitator gets out of the way just as much as they influence. As a teacher-student, the facilitator is constantly evolving as a person and honing their wisdom through their students’ experiences. Likewise, participants are student-teachers, invited to bring their own perspectives, wisdom, and authority to the table.
This collaborative model creates a feedback loop in which everyone learns from everyone else.
- Humility replaces absolute authority.
- Openness replaces single-mindedness.
- Collaboration replaces hierarchy.
- Co-creation replaces intellectual homogeny.
creative facilitation Goals
- To guide creatives in reconciling their fear and affirming their joy.
- To inspire others, ensuring they always leave a little better (wiser, less blocked, more creative, more empowered, feeling safer, etc.) than they arrived.
- To share the wisdom gained from walking the walk, and to show others the path so that they might find their own meanings.
- To be of service to my creative community, fostering a sense of belonging and empowered resourcing within it.
- To trust that the participant is their own best guide, and to empower that inner guide.

Taming the Dragon: Transmuting Fear through Creative Writing
We all struggle with fear. It’s a universal aspect of the creative process. Fear often shows up in consistent patterns unique to our nervous system and personal stories. If we can befriend what’s underneath it, we can restore our internal system to a state of safety. But there is no one-size-fits-all step-by-step handbook on coping with fear.
The purpose of this workshop is to transmute fear by changing how we relate to it and engage with it. It is possible to receive creative abundance and personal insight from fear when we shift rejection into acceptance, judgment into compassion, and neglect into curiosity. We will use character as a means of personifying fear and written story as a mirror to our own personal journey moving through it, finding inspiration through activities designed to help you safely interact with fear.
Join us as we tame our dragons and soar our creative skies upon their backs!
